Update on our lives

Sara, this one is for you.

Christmas break: We went to DC! We stayed with Nathan and Adrienne, who are the best hosts ever. They spoiled us rotten and we had so much fun! We did lots of sightseeing and celebrated Christmas and our anniversary (thanks to N&A)! They sent us to the National Harbor and it was my first night ever away from Everett, but he was a rock star, thank goodness! Everett adored spending time with his cousins. I love those kids together. I hope we live closer to them one day!

These cousins melt my heart.

Third anniversary. :)

Anniversary meal. I want to eat the shrimp and grits and brussels sprouts every day for the rest of my life.

We rode this!

The view from our hotel room.

January-March: Dallin completed his second quarter of law school! Everett and I spent lots of time with friends. We have some great ones here! We did a family fitness competition, and Dallin and I totally rocked. :) We exercised every day and only ate one treat a week. It was so great that Dallin and I are continuing to only eat one treat a week, though we took a few weeks off with spring break and visitors here. It's been really good for us. I sewed some more and read lots. It's pretty fun not being the one in school. Dallin also got an internship with a judge in Salt Lake for the second half of the summer. We are really looking forward to being in Utah again!

This is the Garfield Park Conservatory, which is one of my favorite places to visit. It is so cool, and it is free!

I sewed myself a skirt. I'm hopefully going to be starting more projects soon.
Spring break will have to be its own post, but it was a blast! Dallin went to Japan and Everett and I went to California. Glad we finally get a spring break after so many years at BYU...

April: Ginelle came to visit for her spring break! I'm so glad she was able to come. We shopped a ton, saw downtown, went to the aquarium, and ate a million donuts. So good. We also ate Garrett popcorn, deep dish, ramen, and pierogies. Thank you Chicago for having such amazing food. She helped me buy a million things I needed because I haven't shopped much at all since just a few months after having Everett. It is so nice to have new clothes that fit and a purse that isn't falling apart at the seams! Thanks, Ginelle! Really, she is the best. Also, she took all the pictures, so I don't have many to add...

At the bean.

It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop Everett. He was so excited and kept yelling "The bean, the bean!" over and over.

Update on Everett: He's the best. He is talking a ton and picking up new words every day. He is saying four word sentences. His first was when I was trying to check his diaper and he said, "No bum touch Mommy." Hah! He eats almost anything I give him, which is amazing. We finally got him to sleep through the night, which is a life changer. Nap times are still pretty terrible, but I'll take what I can get. He decided to learn how to jump a few weeks ago and is getting really good at it. He loves climbing on things and going down slides. I'm so happy we are finally starting to have good weather so we can go to the park all the time. Thank you Chicago for having a million parks. He is also developing empathy, which is so cute to watch. He kisses his stuffed animals and tells me when they have 'ouchies' so that I can kiss them better. He'll say "shhhh" when they are sleeping and tuck them in.

I also have to include this story because it killed me. Last night, the missionaries stopped by for a brief visit. I offered them water and only one took me up on it. So I brought him a glass of water. Then Everett started saying "Wawa, wawa." Thinking he wanted some too, I got him a cup, but he said no and kept asking and started looking at the other missionary who didn't get water. So I asked him if he wanted the other missionary to have water and he said yes. I put a little water in another glass and handed it to Everett, who then carefully and slowly walked it over to the missionary and handed it to him. Once he did that, then he said "Everett wawa" and let me give him his cup. He was so concerned that that missionary also got some water. It was seriously the sweetest thing I have ever witnessed. Oh, that kid!

There you go--a nice, scattered update on our lives. Hope you enjoyed it! :)

The Planetarium

Note: This is from December. I'm not sure why I never published it.

I really love getting the free museum passes from the library. We went to the planetarium the afternoon of Dallin's last day of classes. For a Friday, the museum was completely dead. They have this huge area for kids to play, and it was completely empty. It was so fun having the place to ourselves! Everett loved it. He pointed to everything and kept saying "Wow!" over and over. He even got to touch a moon rock!

Everett the astronaut.

Dallin trying to get Everett to crawl in the tunnels with him. It didn't work.

Everett successfully launched a rocket by pressing each button as it lit up, plus all the others multiple times.

The view from the planetarium is my favorite:

Everett was still in-between us for this picture. We are just that bad at selfies.
