Chicago, here we come!

Applying to law school is a huge lesson in patience. You wait for LSAT scores, you wait to apply, you wait for admissions decisions, you wait indefinitely on waitlists (still technically on Stanford's...), and you wait for housing. It was a pain, and I wasn't even the one applying. But it is finally over, and in two weeks, we will be moving to CHICAGO!!

What life would have been like if Stanford had accepted Dallin.

Dallin will be attending University of Chicago Law School and Everett and I will get to explore a whole new city. I think we got the better end of the deal. All we know right now is that they have a rockin' playground downtown and delicious popcorn. But I've heard good things about the food scene and that there are some amazing museums to see. Chicago is that place that everyone raves about if they've either visited or lived there, so we are excited to experience it for ourselves.

Though we have always planned on moving away for law school, the actual process is hard. Leaving Everett's first home was the hardest. Many places have been home to me in my life, but I've never cried harder leaving any of them. There are just so many sweet memories in that apartment. Everett didn't mind, though. He just laughed and clapped as we prepared to leave.

Getting an apartment in Chicago was also hard, since graduate housing gave us conflicting information when we asked for updates. But we have an apartment--with three bedrooms, even! So come visit us. We have space, and we will hopefully have furniture eventually.

Now, we just have to get there and figure out how to live without a car. Then, we'll have a few weeks to get settled and take in the city before we lose Dallin to the dreaded 1L year.  Chicago, here we come!
